For everyone that bought the El-Bland-E EP… Just wanted to give you a heads up on something. So it has come to my attention that there is a really slight pressing defect on the record that was not on the test-press. Its what I would call a “dimple” and it is visible on both sides of the record. On the A-Side it is 2/3 of the way through the second track but this is 100% inaudible… You can’t hear a thing… I have pulled out 20 copies and checked them all and my good friend Simon Wiltshire at Underground Music has done the same. There is definatley no audible defect to this track. On the B-Side the dimple is right at the end of track 2 (Bajo-El-Austral)… literally its on the lead-out and does cause a slight click on 3 rotations as the tune fades out. They are only really quiet clicks. Barely noticeable. But they are there.
So thats the situation. The pressing plant have said they will repress them but they don’t know when they will be able to do it… could be looking at a couple of months due to whats going on in the world of vinyl manufacturing at the moment. But to be fair, I don’t think that is really necessary as this is such a minor fault and from a DJ point of view its right at the end of the track and I would have mixed out of the tune by then… And for me personally, its the track I would be least likely to play anyway.
But I believe that honesty is always the best policy and I think it is the right thing to do to let you guys know before I ship the records. If any of you are not happy with this and want a refund then let me know. I will of course honour this.
All I can say is… I really don’t think you will be disappointed. As you know you are looking at about £80 minimum to buy an original pressing of this record. This repress has been remastered and sounds great and is actually 2dB louder than the original record. I am also giving you the digitals. So for the sake of a couple of clicks right at the end of track 4… But please feel free to let me know your thoughts on this…
So moving on. Something else I wanted to let you know…. The record has now sold out apart from a few safety copies I kept back to cover loss or damage in the postal system. So once everything is shipped then I may have a couple more copies spare. Also. PLEASE NOTE. I have had over 500 orders in the last week and I am actually a one-man operation at the moment so its going to take me a little while to get them all shipped so I hope you can bear with me.
